Hailing as the sole hoops specific shoe in the collection, Green laced up the Off-White x Nike Hyperdunk 2017 last night for the Warriors season-opener against the Houston Rockets. And although the Warriors lost the game by one in the closing seconds, Dray definitely pulled out the most exciting pair of kicks on the court.
The Off-White Nike React Hyperdunk looks totally unique and barely resembles the original silhouette. In true form, Virgil Abloh strays from convention and manages to create something which sits in a league of its own.
The basketball silhouette instantly grabs attention with the lettering “FOAM” written across the white midsole. And that’s just the start as this shoe features striking detailing across the upper. The soft white coloured mesh gets hit with a black coloured Swoosh and vibrant orange detailing features to the sidewall.
A synthetic translucent cage adds further support and “SHOELACES” insignia is another not-so subtle nod to industrial design influences. Finally, as with each shoe in the Off-White x Nike collection, a synthetic cable tie finishes the exclusive look nicely.
The Off-White x Nike React Hyperdunk is expected to launch during September but an official release date is yet to be confirmed. Keep it here for more updates on the run up to launch.
